EPCH introduces Covid safety protocols for IHGF Delhi Fair Autumn 2021

NEW DELHI – 7th OCTOBER’ 2021 – The EPCH is organizing its 52nd IHGF Delhi Fair from 28-31 October, 2021 in physical form at the India Expo Centre & Mart, Greater Noida, Delhi NCR with SOPs as laid down by the Government of India. Physical B2B events are the lifeline for the handicrafts sector as the element of touch, feel and visual impact play a very important role in the decision making of the buyers, said Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Director General – EPCH.

Raj Kumar Malhotra, Chairman-EPCH informed that the show, with around 1500 Indian exhibitors displaying home, lifestyle, fashion, furniture and textiles items, will be visited by overseas buyers from across the globe, buying representatives in India and Domestic Retail stores. The world’s largest vaccination programme is in full swing and the number of COVID cases are showing steady decline with each passing day, the time seems opportune to hold a physical exhibition thus providing opportunity to both the buyers and exhibitors to meet in person to transact business.

Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Director General – EPCH informed that to maintain strict COVID protocol during IHGF Delhi Autumn’2021, the EPCH has laid down guidelines to be followed by the exhibitors, buyers and visitors at the fair venue which include wearing face masks, thermal scanning, physical distancing, respiratory etiquettes, Colour badge wise entry, Frequent hand sanitization, Isolation center at the venue, COVID enforcement officer, Aarogya Setu App, CCTV, F&B services with proper hygiene etc.

Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Director General – EPCH further informed that the EPCH will provide following three different colour badges for entry to the fair:-

  • BLUE (for Overseas buyers) – the overseas buyers will follow the international protocol of RTPCR testing as mandated at Air Suvidha portal
  • GREEN (for Exhibitors) – Fully vaccinated both doses
  • ORANGE (for others) – Single dose vaccination OR No vaccination but allowed entry with Negative RTPCR test report done 48 hrs prior to visit to the fair or rapid antigen test done at the fair venue at their cost

All above colour BADGE holders will be allowed to visit IHGF Delhi Fair Autumn’2021 for maintaining strict COVID protocol and in the wake of Covid-19. The objective of these guidelines is to conduct IHGF Delhi Fair Autumn’2021 in a controlled and conducive environment to ensure the safety and good health of all concerned. These guidelines are in line of SOPs issued by Govt. of India and with an objective to make sure that the IHGF Delhi Fair remain the preferred business medium to conduct business transactions.

The Handicrafts exports during the Five months of current financial year from April to August, 2021-22 is Rs. 12,342.66 crores registering a growth of over 71.77% over the same period in last year.
