EPCH marks presence in Heimtextil 2024, Messe Frankfurt, Germany

NEW DELHI – 09th January’2024 – The Heimtextil, 2024 got underway at Frankfurt today and will conclude on 12th January’ 2024. The India pavilion got inaugurated in the august presence of Shri B. S. Mubarak, IFS Consul General, Consulate General of India, Frankfurt, Germany; Dr. Beena M. IAS, Development Commissioner (Handlooms), and other member exporters. It is a great opportunity for India to showcase “Incredible Textiles of India”, incomparable diversity, rich culture, tradition of arts and crafts at such a big platform like Heimtextil. The Council has organized the member participation with 20 member exporters from different parts of the Country spread in Hall 10.3, Hall 5.0 and Hall 5.1 informed by R. K. Verma, Executive Director –EPCH.

Dileep Baid, Chairman – EPCH said India’s participation will add to the fair’s vibrancy and diversity, as well as familiarise global manufacturers, retailers, and brands with the robust entrepreneurship in the Indian textiles, home furnishing, and consumer products industries, opening up opportunities for sourcing from India. He further said that since Germany is a major market for Indian products, Heimtextil is an important marketing medium for Indian companies all over the world.

R. K. Verma, Executive Director –EPCH said, Heimtextil is the world’s largest event for interior textiles, interior design, home furnishings, and household textiles. This trade show offers significant inspiration to both the exhibiting companies and the professional visitors from all over the world with its new products and trends. It should be noted that over the years, the presence of India at Heimtextil Frankfurt has also grown significantly.

Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts is a nodal agency for promotion of exports of handicrafts from the Country and create brand image of magic of the gifted hands of millions of artisans and crafts persons engaged in production of home, lifestyle, textiles, furniture and fashion jewellery & accessories products in different craft clusters of the Country. The overall Handicrafts exports during the year 2022-23 was Rs. 30,019.24 Crores (US $ 3,728.47 Million). The exports of handicrafts items to Germany during the year 2022-23 was Rs. 1428.06 Crores (US $ 177.37 Million) informed Shri R. K. Verma, Executive Director, EPCH.
