EPCH PARTICIPATING IN “AF-L’ ARTIGIANO IN FIERA”, MILAN, ITALY

One of main objectives of EPCH is participation in specialized International Trade  B2B/ Retail Fairs and exhibitions related to home, lifestyles and fashion products to increase exports of handicrafts from India in general and create brand image of Indian handcrafted products in particular in the International markets.

 

In the series, Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts [EPCH] in association with ITPO is participating in “AF-L’ ARTIGIANO IN FIERA”, MILAN, ITALY from 5 – 13 December, 2015.  AF-L’ ARTIGIANO IN FIERA, Milan, Italy is the biggest internationalretail trade event dedicated to arts and crafts.   The fair started in year 1996 is being organized with a clear objective to focus on handicrafts and the handmade products with the view to Sell Directly and Search new products in the market informed Shri Rakesh Kumar, ED – EPCH. 

 

The exhibition is open to general public and trade visitors both for spot booking and retail and sale.  The fair is spread over in 1,50,000 sq. mtr area and widely participated by more than 3000 exhibitors from 110 countries from all over the world.  The products categories on display will be giftware and fancy goods, clothing and accessories, furnishing and fittings, gold and silver items &  houseware items  further elaboratedShri Kumar, ED – EPCH.

 

11 member exporters of the Council from various parts of the country will be displaying different kinds of handcrafted products such as stoles, shawls, ladies handbags, artificial jewellery, handicrafts, scarves, home decorative items, bed sheets, cushion covers, wall hangings, curtains and  Christmas decorative.  Apart from member exporters, five master craftspersons   who have been conferred National Awards for their skills  will also be live demonstrating work on  silver filigree from Andhra Pradesh, mithila painting from Bihar,chamel leather jewellery from Jodhpur, bell metal from Chattisgarh and embroidery from Uttar Pradesh said ED – EPCH.

 

The exports of handicrafts in the year 2014-15 was Rs. 18,639 crores registering a growth of 7.96% over the previous year.  The export during first seven months of this financial year stood at 10995.62 crores registering a growth of 10.94% over the same period last year.    It is set to achieve a target of Rs. 20,368 crores in 2015-16.

 

EPCH is a nodal agency for promotion of Handicrafts exports from the Country and to create brand image of handcrafted products in International markets.
