Excise Minister Manish Sisodia should be sacked and arrested : Delhi Congress

NEW DELHI, August 2, 2022—Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Ch. Anil Kumar said that if Excise Minister Manish Sisodia continues to remain in power, the CBI probe into Liquor Scam, ordered by the Lt. Governor, will not be free and fair, and therefore, he should be sacked and arrested without further delay to ensure a transparent probe into the liquor deal. He said that the fact that the Delhi Government decided in a hurry to revert back to the old liquor policy after the Lt. Governor ordered a CBI probe was proof enough that huge corruption had taken place in the liquor deal.

Ch. Anil Kumar said that it was strange that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who swears by honesty and integrity, has not yet sacked Sisodia from the Ministry, despite clear evidence of his involvement in the liquor scam, which was implemented unilaterally by him without having proper discussions with social and other concerned organizations, including the Residents’ Welfare Associations and women groups.

Ch. Anil Kumar wondered who was funding Arvind Kejriwal’s frequent tours to Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Orissa and Punjab for his political works, whether it was the liquor cartels or he was squandering the Delhi tax payers’ money.  He said that after using Satyender Jain and Manish Sisodia for his fund collection through corrupt deals, Kejriwal was projecting  himself as a honest man, but if the CBI probe is held in a transparent manner, not only Sisodia, but  Kejriwal will also be caught for corruption, and they both will face the same fate as Satyender Jain, who has been in jail for the past two months in a money-laundering case.

Ch. Anil Kumar asked Delhi BJP president Shri Adesh Gupta why didn’t Delhi Police probe Delhi Congress’ complaints to the Police Commissioner, exposing the involvement of Punjab’s liquor mafia in the new liquor policy in Delhi, now that the LG has ordered a CBI probe into the scam? He also asked Shri Gupta why the BJP MPs and MLAs did not protest when the Lt. Governor gave his approval to the corrupt new liquor policy brought up by Sisodia and Kejriwal?

DPCC president Ch. Anil Kumar announces 26- member Organising Committee for the Azadi Gaurav Yatra

NEW DELHI, August 2, 2022—Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Ch. Anil Kumar announced a 26-member Organizing Committee for the Azadi Gaurav Yatra, headed by former Delhi Minister Dr Narendra Nath. The Azadi ki Gaurav Yatra will be held from August 9 to 15 in all the districts of Delhi.
