Extraordinary courage of Kargil heroes safeguarded India’s sovereignty: Telangana Governor

Hyderabad, July 26 (IANS) Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla has said that the extraordinary courage and supreme sacrifice of heroes of the Kargil War safeguarded India’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

On the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas, the Governor paid tributes to the soldiers who laid down their lives.

“Heartfelt tributes to the immortal heroes of the Kargil War, whose extraordinary courage, unwavering patriotism, and supreme sacrifice safeguarded the sovereignty and territorial integrity of our nation,” the Governor said in a message on ‘X’.

“Their indomitable spirit and steadfast devotion to duty during the Kargil conflict remain a shining example of valour and selfless service. Their sacrifices will forever be etched in the nation’s memory with profound pride and gratitude. As we honour these brave warriors, let us reaffirm our commitment to the ideals they fought for – national unity, integrity, and the spirit of selfless service – and ensure that their legacy continues to inspire generations to come,” Governor Shukla said.

On the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas, commemorated as a symbol of the courage, valour and sacrifice of the Indian Armed Forces, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy paid solemn tributes to the brave soldiers who laid down their lives in the service of the nation.

The Chief Minister stated that the supreme sacrifices and exemplary bravery of the gallant soldiers continue to inspire every citizen of the country. He paid his respectful homage to the martyrs and honoured their unwavering devotion to the nation.

Union Minister for Coal and Mines, G. Kishan Reddy, also offered salutations to the brave and valiant heroes of our Indian Armed Forces on the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas.

“Their unmatched courage, sacrifice and patriotism continue to inspire every Indian. Let’s commit ourselves to building a stronger and united Bharat,” he said in a social media post.

Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, stated, “Today, we remember the heroes who proved that no challenge is greater than the spirit of an Indian soldier.

The victory at Kargil stands as a timeless reminder of the courage, discipline and selfless devotion of our Armed Forces. I pay my heartfelt tributes to every braveheart who fought fearlessly to protect our nation’s sovereignty. India shall forever remain indebted to their sacrifice.”
