Faculty Workshop on Optimization Techniques -ITS Engg. College Gr Noida
The workshop was organized by Computer Science Engineering (CSE) department to enlighten the issues related to solving multidisciplinary research problems and to provide an overview of latest techniques.
The inauguration of the workshop was done by welcoming and lighting of lamp by the Chief Guest Dr. S.K. Gupta, Prof.CSE, IIT, Delhi, followed by the Director Dr. Vineet Kansal and HOD-CSE Dr. Shailesh Tiwari. The workshop was attended by around 100 participants from various colleges and universities, industry and research scholars and PG students.
A brief appraisal on Dr. S.K. Gupta, Prof. CSE, IIT, Delhi was read by Ms. Neelakshi Goyal.
He has a rich experience in the field of Computer Science Engineering. He is a member of Editorial Board of Journals like IME and ADIT Journal of Engineering, IICSA and so on. He has published more than 40 research paper in International Conference. He commenced the session by briefing on the importance of the optimization techniques in the varied fields.
The first session of the workshop was initiated by lecture of Dr. Milie Pant, Associate Professor, Deptt. of ASH, IIT, Roorkee. She is M.Sc in Mathematics and done her Ph.D from IIT, Roorkee. Her areas of interest include numerical optimization and operations research, evolutionary algorithms and swarm Intelligence. She has published around 100 research papers in various journals and national and international conferences. She is member of Editorial Board of International Journal of Mathematical Modeling, simulation and Applications, She briefly introducing on basic structure of optimization techniques and how they can be applied in engineering field and sciences, how they can be modeled and help in finding solutions using various optimization methods.
It was followed by lecture and training session of Dr. Sushant Upadhyaya, Astt. Prof., Deptt. of Chemical Engineering, MNIT, Jaipur on “Mathematical Modeling (ODE Solver) and process Optimization using Matlab”. He told about theoretical aspect of various mathematical Modeling techniques and also talked about Process Optimization and how it can be practically implemented by using various Matlab tools available. He also shared hand-on experience to all the participants about the Simulink during the lab session.
It was a knowledgeable interaction with the experts to grasp their views and vision. The workshop is to be continued tomorrow with few more experts to share their experiences on the aforementioned topic.
29.11.14- 2nd day- Valedictory function
The second session was initiated by talk of Dr. K.K.Mishra, Asst.Prof.,CSE, MNIT, Allahabad on “Nature Inspired Algorithm” and its applications in various engineering fields. He also talked about recent research work going on these algorithms.
The next lecture was delivered by Mr. Nitin Singh, Astt.Professor, Dept. of Electrical Engg., MNIT, Allahabad on ——————-.

The workshop was concluded with vote of thanks by Dr. Shailesh Tiwari, HOD-CSE-ITS Engg. College, Greater Noida. The Chief Guest of valedictory function was Prof. Om Vikas, Senior Director, Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, Govt. Of India.
He appreciated the efforts put in by the organizing Committee of the workshop and congratulated all and the student volunteers too.
There was a prize awarding ceremony held, prizes and certificates were distributed to the winners of Chess and Table tennis competition conducted recently in the campus through hands of the Chief guest.
