FAKE “DESI GHEE” FACTORY RUNNING AT DDA LIG FLAT, PASCHIM VIHAR, DELHI UNEARTHED.
TOTAL 2.5 TONNES ADULTERATED DESI GHEE & HUGE QUANTITY OF DUPLICATE PACKAGING MATERIAL RECOVERED.
FIVE ACCUSED PERSONS ARRESTED WHO WERE MAKING QUICK BUCKS BY TAKING ADVANTAGE OF BRISK SALES IN FESTIVAL SEASON.

INTRODUCTION: –

Crime Branch has unearthed a spurious Ghee factory in Paschim Vihar and arrested five persons namely (1) Naresh Goyal (49 yrs) s/o Late Jai Narayan Goyal, r/o Paschim Vihar, Delhi, (2) Ashish Aggarwal (30 yrs) s/o Shankar Lal Aggarwal, r/o Hastsal Road, Uttam Nagar, Delhi, (3) Murtaja @ Arman (28 yrs) s/o Mohd.Vali Khan r/o Old Mustafabad, Delhi, (4) Ran Singh (47 yrs) s/o Chander Bhan r/o Village Ghondli, Krishna Nagar, Delhi and (5) Naveen Rathore (35 yrs) s/o Shanker Lal Rathore r/o Bhajanpura, Delhi and recovered 2.5 tons adulterated Ghee, 8 machines used for printing fake packaging material and huge quantity of duplicate packaging material of various renowned brands i.e. Madhusudan, Mother Dairy, Milk Food and Paras.

INFORMATION, TEAM AND OPERATION: –

A complaint was received from authorized representative of SMC Foods Ltd. that some manufacturers/shopkeepers are involved in manufacturing, selling adulterated Ghee in Delhi, in the name of various renowned brands. The information was further developed by ASI Savinder. Accordingly, a team led by DCP Rajeev Sharma, consisting of ACP N.K. Meena, Inspr. Surender Dalal, SIs Vipin Yadav, Shivraj Tyagi, ASIs Savinder, Sukhbir, Baljeet, HCs Sunil, Deepak, Pradeep, Manish, Shivcharan, Cts. Suresh, Ajay, Manoj and Ravi Khari under the supervision of Addl. C.P. Alok Kumar was constituted to unearth the racket.

Acting on this information, the team raided a godown in Uttam Nagar area owned by one Ashish Aggarwal and huge quantity of packed adulterated Ghee was recovered from there. Consequently, accused Ashish Aggarwal was arrested, who disclosed that he had purchased adulterated Desi Ghee from one Naresh Goyal who runs a factory of manufacturing adulterated Desi Ghee at Paschim Vihar. Accused Naresh Goyal was also arrested and huge quantity of adulterated ‘Desi Ghee’ in the fake packaging of Milk Food, Madhusudan and Mother Dairy was recovered from his factory running at a LIG flat in Paschim Vihar. A case vide FIR No.152/15 u/s 63/65 Copy Right Act & 272/273/420/120B/34 IPC was registered at PS Crime Branch in this regard.

Accused Naresh Goel further disclosed that he used to buy fake packaging material from one Murtaja @ Arman. Hence, a raid was conducted at a godown at Brijpuri, Old Mustafabad and the accused Murtaja @ Arman was arrested and large numbert of fake wrappers, tetra poly packs etc. of various brands of Desi Ghee companies were recovered.

Accused Murtaja further told that he used to get the fake printing packaging material from one Ran Singh, who was arrested and one small screen printing machine, big lamination machine, cutting and roller machine with huge quantity of duplicate wrappers and packaging material of branded Desi Ghee companies were recovered from two godowns situated at village Ghondli containing. Further, at the instance of accused Ran Singh, accused Naveen Rathore was arrested and at his instance one big printing machine and several printing plates used for printing duplicate packaging material of branded Desi Ghee has been recovered and seized.

MODUS OPERANDI: –

Accused Naresh Goyal is in the business of edible oils. In order to make quick easy money, he set up a manufacturing unit at his DDA LIG flat at Paschim Vihar and started manufacturing adulterated Desi Ghee by mixing refined and dalda in Desi Ghee of different brands. Normally, he used to repack the adulterated ghee in original packaging. However, sometimes, when the packaging got damaged, he used to take duplicate packaging material from accused Murtaja. Accused Ashish Aggarwal used to procure this adulterated Desi Ghee for supplying to the retailers. Accused Murtaza is involved in supplying of duplicate packaging materials and accused Ran Singh and Naveen Rathore are indulged in printing of these duplicate packaging materials in their printing press.

PROFILE:

Accused Naresh Goyal was born and brought up in Delhi. He has studied upto 8^th Since the age of 16 yrs, he was in the whole sale business of Desi Ghee at Uttam Nagar. In order to earn quick bucks, he started manufacturing adulterated Ghee. For the last two years, he was making a profit of approx. Rs.20,000/- per day from this illegal trade.
Accused Ashish Aggarwal was born in Delhi and he is a commerce graduate. He is running an edible oils shop at Uttam Nagar for the past 5 years. Six month ago, he started purchasing adulterated Ghee from accused Naresh Goyal and sold it in retail for making easy money.
Accused Murtaja @ Arman was born in Delhi and he has studied upto 4^th Initially, he worked in a toy and bag factory. Later, he came in contact with accused Ran Singh and started purchasing duplicate packaging material of Desi Ghee from him and selling the same to manufacturers of adulterated Desi Ghee in order to earn quick and easy money.
Accused Ran Singh was born and brought up in Delhi. He has studied upto 8^th He has been running screen printing press at Ghondli village for last 15 years. He used to print the duplicate tapes of branded Desi Ghee and small packaging materials in his own printing press. He used to purchase duplicate packaging material of Desi Ghee in bulk from accused Naveen Rathore.
Accused Naveen Rathore was born in Delhi and he has studied upto 10^th Four years back, he had installed his own printing press at Maujpur. To earn quick profit, he started printing duplicate packaging material of Desi Ghee of branded companies.

RECOVERY: –

(1). Adulterated Desi Ghee– Total 2460 liters of the brands given below:

Madhusudan Ghee– 675 liters.
Paras Ghee– 375 liters.
Mother Dairy Ghee– 465 liters.
Milk Food Ghee -945 liters.

(2) Original Ghee/Oil: Total 260 Liters

Mother Dairy Desi Ghee– 105 liters,
Rath Vanaspati Refined Oil- 65 liters
Dalda Soyabean Oil- 90 liters.

(3) Two Printing Machines, Three Sealing Machines, Electronic Weighing Machines, Cutting Machine and Packaging Machines, One big Gas Stove, Huge Quantity of Duplicate Wrappers, Packaging Materials, Tetra Poly Packs, Tetra Card Board etc.
