Farmers protest delay in abadi land return

 A farmers’ body of Greater Noida held a meeting at Pari Chowk on Sunday to protest against the delay on part of the Uttar Pradesh government in approving the leaseback policy of abadi land.

The leaseback policy had been approved by the Greater Noida Authority in 2013 and is since awaiting the UP state cabinet’s nod. As per the policy, farmers whose abadi or inhabited land had been acquired by the state government for industrial development will get it back. The policy is expected to benefit around 5, 000 farmers.
