Farmers step up stir for extra relief

Farmers on Wednesday decided to intensify their agitation against the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority, a day after they threatened to disrupt construction work if their demands for extra compensation and regularization of abadi land were not met.

Hundreds of farmers in Greater Noida held a panchayat in their respective villages, including Ghodi Bacheda, Junpad and Thap Kheda, where they discussed ways to get their compensation pending with the authority as well as sorting out other issues, including abadi regularization and developed plots in lieu of their total land acquired by the Authority.
