Farming in India has been unprofitable for 2 decades: Study

India’s agriculture hasn’t been able to generate enough revenues to keep the farmers profitable for nearly two decades, a study by Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and research firm ICRIER has found. According to the study, India is one of three countries where this has happened. Keeping food prices low is the main reason, the study said.
