New Delhi, July 13, 2023: In a tragic incident on GT Karnal road in Alipur, north Delhi, four people lost their lives when two trucks collided around midnight. The collision occurred between a truck carrying kanwar yatris (pilgrims) en route to Haridwar and another truck. According to the police, preliminary investigations indicate that the truck heading towards Delhi lost control, veered across the road divider, and collided with the other truck bound for Haridwar.
Among the victims were 20 kanwar yatris who were traveling on the truck. Authorities have reported that 15 individuals sustained injuries, with four tragically losing their lives at the scene. The police are currently tracing the remaining yatris to ensure their well-being.
The extent of the damage on both trucks vividly portrays the intensity of the collision, highlighting the gravity of the incident.
