The prompt response of multiple fire tenders mitigated the situation, and the fire was successfully brought under control within an hour, according to the fire department.
The incident unfolded on the second floor of the main building, specifically in the endoscopy room, which led to the swift evacuation of all patients present. A fire call was received from AIIMS’ emergency ward at 11:54 am, and the Delhi Fire Services immediately dispatched eight fire tenders to battle the blaze.
Visuals captured the dramatic scene as patients were efficiently relocated to safer areas on the hospital premises. The fire’s containment was achieved, but the search operation continued as authorities ensured every corner was secured.
