New Delhi, May 21, 2024: Areeba Saghir, a BTech Computer Science graduate from the 2015 batch of Galgotias College of Engineering & Technology, has successfully cleared the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2023, securing an impressive All India Rank (AIR) of 253.
Dhruv Galgotia, CEO of Galgotias University, met Areeba on Tuesday and congratulated her on her remarkable achievement. “We are incredibly proud of Areeba Saghir’s success. Her dedication and perseverance are exemplary, and she truly embodies the spirit of excellence that Galgotias stands for. We wish her all the best in her future endeavors,” he stated.
Areeba credits her success to the unwavering support of her family. “The formidable support of my parents has been my greatest asset throughout my preparation. My family stood behind me rock solid,” she shared.
Areeba’s father, Mr. Mohd Saghir Husain, a writer by profession, has been a significant influence on her journey. “He remains my ideal,” she said. Her mother, Mrs. Firdaus Saghir, provided the strongest motivation, encouraging Areeba at every step. Her brother, Zuhair bin Saghir, a senior IAS officer currently serving in Uttar Pradesh, inspired her with his dedication and achievements. “He has been a constant source of inspiration and motivation,” Areeba mentioned.
Her sisters, Dr. Vardah Saghir and Ms. Fizza Saghir, also played vital roles in her journey, acting as her pillars of support and comfort during the intense preparation period. “My friends and well-wishers formed my never-failing support system,” she added, acknowledging the broad network of encouragement that surrounded her.
Areeba’s academic journey began at Father Agnel School in New Delhi. She then pursued her passion for technology by enrolling in the Computer Science program at Galgotias College of Engineering & Technology in Greater Noida. Her interest in coding and programming led her to the field of website designing and development, showcasing her diverse skill set.
In 2018, Areeba achieved a significant milestone by cracking the UPPSC exam. Since then, she has been serving as a State Tax Officer in the Government of Uttar Pradesh, demonstrating her dedication and competence in public service.
