Galgotias Breaks Into QS World Rankings 2026, Ranks Among Top 15 Private Universities in India

Greater Noida, 19 June 2025 — In a remarkable achievement, Galgotias University has made its debut in the prestigious QS World University Rankings 2026, securing a place in the 1200–1400 bracket globally. The university has been ranked 15th among private universities and 43rd among all Indian institutions, marking a major milestone in its journey toward academic excellence.

The QS Rankings 2026, released this week, evaluated 8,467 institutions worldwide, of which only 1,501 were selected. Galgotias University stands out as one of just eight new Indian entrants, underscoring its rising academic reputation and commitment to global benchmarks.

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan also commented on the broader Indian performance in the rankings:

“From just 11 universities in 2014 to 54 in the latest rankings, this five-fold jump is a testament to the transformative educational reforms ushered by PM Narendra Modi ji’s govt. in the last decade. NEP 2020 is not just changing our educational landscape, it is revolutionising it,” he wrote on X.

India continues to make strong progress in global education rankings, with institutes such as IIT Delhi (123), IIT Bombay (129), IIT Kharagpur (215), IISc Bangalore (219), and Delhi University (328) among the top performers this year.
