Galgotias University strives in preparing its students to be industry-ready. In-line with the objective, the School of Liberal Education organized an educational visit to One Stop Centre in October last year, along with several similar visits to other institutes in the field of social sciences.

The One Stop Centre is a scheme supported by Ministry of Women and Child Development, Uttar Pradesh, designed to help women in distress who are in challenging situations like trafficking, rape, abuse, domestic violence, and dowry. These oppressed women are provided counselling, legal aid and short-term shelter during times of crisis.

During the visit, our students had the opportunity to facilitate mechanisms of welfare and relief to such women. They were also made aware about the techniques and methods of counselling by the welfare officers of One Stop Centre Scheme.

An understanding was formally developed for coming to mutual agreement for conferences, seminars, workshops, and other events between Galgotias University and One Stop Center. On February 12, 2024 both the entities came together for signing an MoU for provisioning of internship opportunities to students of Galgotias University. The MOU is a special drive towards instilling professional skills in the students of Galgotias University. These skills will provide an edge to our students when they face real-world challenges. This collaboration also underscores our commitment to fulfilment of Goal 5-promoting Gender Equality and Goal 16-promoting Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions of Sustainable Development Goals.

Chancellor, Mr. Suneel Galgotia said, “Under this collaboration, both the institutions would mutually further promote empowerment of women and would make a better India.”
