Galgotias University Students Excel at the 2025 Asia Para Cup – World Ranking Tournament

Bangkok, Thailand – February 12, 2025 – Students from Galgotias University delivered outstanding performances at the 2025 Asia Para Cup – World Ranking Tournament, held from February 2 to 11 in Bangkok, Thailand. Sarita Devi secured three gold medals in archery, while Rakesh Kumar earned one silver and one bronze medal, demonstrating exceptional talent and determination on an international stage.

Sarita Devi, a Computer Science student from the Polytechnic Department, dominated the tournament by winning gold medals in three categories:

– Individual Event* – Defeated Noor Sahida of Singapore with a score of 143-142.
– Mixed Team Event* – Partnered with her teammate to overcome Indonesia’s Teodora Odi and Ayudia Fairle with a score of 150-148.
– Doubles Event* – Teamed up to defeat China’s Li Yun Hsin and Wong Hsin Lan with a score of 146-133.

Her exceptional performance in individual, mixed, and doubles categories underscores her skill, focus, and commitment to the sport, bringing immense pride to Galgotias University and the nation.

Rakesh Kumar also showcased remarkable talent, securing two medals:

– Bronze Medal – Individual Event* – Won against Malaysia’s Wairo Julen in a tense shoot-off, scoring 10 against 9.
– Silver Medal – Men’s Doubles Event* – Partnered with his teammate to deliver a strong performance against Thailand, finishing with scores of 49 and 50 points.
