Aspirants who had appeared for GATE 2017 can login to the official website for accessing the answer keys by entering the required details. The module to contest answer keys will be available from tomorrow March 3 at GATE 2017 official website gate.iitr.ernet.in. The last date to contest answer keys is March 6, 2017. In order to contest answer keys, the candidate will be able to challenge the answer key of any question after giving their justification(s) and pay fees of Rs. 500 (for each question) through the online payment portal available in the GOAPS. For candidates who have appeared in GATE 2017 from outside India, the fee for each answer key challenge is US$10.
The candidates are required to ensure that they quote the proper question number as per the PDF file of the question paper. It is important to note that the details entered by the aspirants need to be correct. In case the proper question number is not correctly identified then the challenge will not be accepted. The candidate in case successfully challenges the answer key the payment will be refunded back to them. Another important point for the candidates is that for all challenges on answer keys, the decision of the GATE 2017 committee will be final and binding. It is also important for the candidates to note that no correspondence or telephone calls on this matter will be entertained
This year the GATE 2017 XE paper had a new section on Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences (section H). With this the number of sections in the XE paper has increased to eight (A-H). The GATE paper consisted of 85 marks paper which is subject to specific and General Aptitude (GA) section for 15 marks. Both the papers of GATE were compulsory. All the candidates who had appeared for GATE 2017 were provided with a virtual scientific calculator which has to be used to answer the questions.
