Gautam Buddha University introduces 12 new programmes for 2022-23 session, relaxes mandatory hostel stay

Greater Noida, 11th April: In a press meet on Monday, Gautam Buddha University’s Vice Chancellor R.K Sinha informed that the university is opening admissions for the upcoming session 2022-23 offering 124 programs with 12 new programs along with 112 existing programmes to the prospective admission seekers, encompassing many new and sunrise disciplines of studies viz. Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Internet of Things, Cyber Security, Data Science, Railway Signaling & RAMS, Molecular Medicines, Genomics, Bio-informatics, Microbial Biotechnology, Buddhist Tourism and Heritage, Interior Design, Bio-medical Engineering, Electric Vehicles, Polyurethane Technology, Environment Management, Clinical Psychology, etc. All the programmes offered with the purpose to bridge the gap between Industry and academia, the University has introduced many Degree, Diploma and Certificate courses in emerging areas in the field of IT, Engineering, Biotechnology, Management along with the conventional courses. The overall thrust of the University is to enhance quality and innovativeness in teaching-learning and research. University envisions integrating our national ethos in teaching and endeavouring to ingrain the ethics and values in the conduct and behavior of the students of the University.

The Main highlights of the programmes offered are:

  • NEP-2020: University has adopted NEP-2020 in principle and offering 4 year Under Graduate programmes [BA/BSc (Hons.) with Research] with multiple exit option. Under NEP-2020 following programmes is going to be offered from 5 Schools of the the University (SOHSS, SOBSC, SOM, SOVSAS & SOBT) are:
  • BA/BSc (H)/BSW(H)/BA(H) programmes of Humanities and Social Sciences
  • BA(H) in Buddhist Studies
  • BCom and BBA
  • BSc (Physical Science)/BSc (H) in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics
  • BSc (H) in Biotechnology
  • Relaxation on mandatory stay in Hostel: Taking into consideration the weaker sections of the society and persistent request to exempt students and parents from nearby areas. From upcoming academic session, University is going to relax mandatory stay in hostel for those newly admitted students in programmes viz. UG, and PG programmes of Schools of Humanities and Social Science, Buddhist Studies, Vocational Studies and Applied Sciences, etc., University is going to exempt such candidates from mandatory hostel facility but if requested hostel will be given subject to availability of the same at the time of request.
  • Twelve (12) new programmes across 3 schools and Centre of Excellence are going to be introduced from upcoming academic session 2022-2023. The programmes are: PhD (Food Processing Tech), M. Tech. in CSE and MBA Executive (for Working Professionals), MSc (Bioinformatics & Genomics and Microbial Biotechnology), BSc (H) with Research in Biotechnology, M. Tech. in RAMS and Maintenance Engg, 3 Certificate and Diploma Courses in each of the following Reliability Availability and Safety, Prognostics and Health & Maintenance Engineering.
  • University is introducing two new programmes for working professional who are eager to enhance their educational qualifications. These programmes will be offered during the weekends to facilitate running of smooth classes for working professionals. The offered programmes are:

  • MBA (Executive)

  • Admission Mode: The University is going to admit students through two modes: Remote Proctored Online Entrance Test (GBU-ET 2022) and Direct Mode admission (merit-based admission). The University will conduct Online Entrance Test (GBU-ET 2022) for admission in 100 programs and admission in remaining 24 Programmes will be through Direct Mode admission (merit-based admission). The Online Entrance Test (GBU-ET 2022) will be conducted tentatively in the first week of July.

Admission through valid Test Score of other National Level Tests will be applicable only in case of seats lying vacant after GBU entrance Test (GBU-ET 2022) and counseling sessions. Thereafter, vacant seats may be filled by any National level Test Score or directly on Merit-based i.e., merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks of obtained in the qualifying exams.

University is pleased to share that International Admission Cell of the University is already in receipt of approximately 100 admission applications from more than a dozen countries for various programmes of the University which includes UG, PG and Doctoral programmes.
