Tewatia vows fresh farmer protest, peaceful this time

BHATTA-PARSAUL (Greater Noida): On the fourth anniversary of the violent clash between police and farmers in Bhatta-Parsaul, the twin villages in Greater Noida, and with opposition against the Land Acquisition Bill refusing to lose steam, farmer leader Manvir Singh Tewatia is all set to launch a fresh protest, however, peaceful this time. Tewatia led the farmer`s agitation at Bhatta-Pasaul in 2011 against land acquisition by the then Mayawati goverment, which had left two farmers and as many policemen dead and several injured in a clash on May 7. Booked in at least 88 criminal cases, he was lodged in Ghaziabad`s Dasna Jail for 2 years till June 2013.
