Woman survives after 5-foot iron rod pierces her in highway accident

Galgotias Ad

A 35-year-old woman was critically injured when iron rods jutting out of a truck pierced her left shoulder after the autorickhaw she was travelling in crashed into the stationary vehicle on National Highway-24 in Ghaziabad early on Saturday morning.

The truck laden with iron rods was parked by the roadside, a perpetual problem motorists face every day in Ghaziabad.

Police had to use iron cutters for over an hour to separate her from the rest of the bar. She was rushed to MMG hospital with a piece of around 5-foot of iron bar still inside her body.
