Girl student gang-raped in #Shamli

Muzaffarnagar, Aug 14 (PTI) A 20-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped by three youths at Yarpur village under Thana Bhawan police station in Shamli district, police said.

The incident happened yesterday when the girl, a class XI student, was returning home from school, they said.

According to an FIR lodged by the victim’s uncle, the accused picked up the girl on her way back and took her to a secluded place nearby and allegedly gang-raped her.

Police have registered a case against one Lakhan Ram (25) and two unidentified persons who are absconding, SHO Kuldeep Singh said.

The accused also allegedly threatened?to kill the girl if she raised an alarm or disclosed the matter to anyone, police said.
