Advisor to the Chief Minister, Avnish Awasthi, emphasized the significant role of government policies and institutional frameworks in promoting inclusive and equitable education. He discussed the challenges impeding the implementation of such education and addressed why the quality of education in India has lagged behind the market’s demands. Awasthi noted that primary education enrollment in the state saw an 18% increase from 44% in 2018 to 59% in 2022, with Uttar Pradesh having the highest enrollment in class 6 across India. He stressed the importance of providing a strong foundation during the early years of education as it sets the stage for future learning and development. Awasthi mentioned that nearly 20 million students are enrolled in primary schools in Uttar Pradesh, a key government priority. The government has also taken steps to send a significant number of children begging on the streets to school. He assured students that the government would fully support them if they wanted to start their own businesses.
Vikrant Massey emphasized the importance of embracing one’s identity and background with dignity and pride, regardless of social status or profession. He encouraged maintaining self-respect and confidence, embracing one’s roots and heritage with honor, and moving forward with pride.
Shrikant Bolla highlighted that helping others ultimately benefits oneself as a leader. He stressed the need to face challenges and stand against obstacles for personal growth, community, and professional success. Bolla likened entrepreneurship to a spiritual journey, involving hard work, risk-taking, and a unique mindset and dedication, often leading to a sense of isolation. He emphasized the interconnection of leadership, personal development, and entrepreneurship, underscoring the solitary nature of the entrepreneurial quest for persistence, selflessness, and business success.
GL Bajaj Educational Institutions CEO Kartikeya Agarwal suggested that students gain practical experience alongside their academic studies. He advocated for internships with renowned companies to gain professional world exposure. Agarwal encouraged students to participate in college activities, connect with mentors, and stay updated with current skills. He highlighted the importance of time management, multitasking, and stress management skills to reduce skill gaps. Agarwal advised students not to neglect self-care and mental health, treating internships and jobs with the seriousness of a close relationship, requiring dedication and passion for success.
