New Delhi, 21st June 2023: On Wednesday, the crisis-hit airline Go First stated that its scheduled flight operations will be cancelled till June 25 due to operational issues.
This comes as previously the airline had stated that operations would be suspended until June 22.
Since May 3, the cash-strapped carrier’s aircraft have been grounded.
Go First filed for bankruptcy at the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) in early May and ceased its flight operations due to rising losses, principally as a result of delays in the supply of Pratt and Whitney engines, which resulted in the grounding of a portion of its fleet. The airline anticipates an immediate settlement and restart of operations.
There were increased speculations that the grounding of the Go First flights had put pressure on the airfares, focusing primely on select routes where the now-grounded airline had a footprint.
