Govt Dissolves IGNCA Board, appoints new chairperson.

Senior journalist Ram Bahadur Rai, former editor of Jansatta, a Padma Shri winner, has been appointed in place of Chinmaya Ghare Khan.

After removing Nehru Memorial Museum and Library director Mahesh Rangarajan last October, Culture Minister Mahesh Sharma dissolved UPA appointees to the Indira Gandhi Nation Centre for Arts, revamped the board of trustees and announced a new chairperson.

Senior journalist Ram Bahadur Rai, former news editor of Jansatta, a Padma Shri winner, has been appointed in place of Chinmaya Ghare Khan. Mr. Rai is just one of the new names along with a few familiar names Sonal Mansingh, Chandraprakash Dwivedi, Padma Subramaniam..The 20-member team also includes Nitin Desai, K Arvinda Rao, Rati Vinay Jha, Professor Nirmala Sharma, Harsh Neotia and Saryu Doshi.

The IGNCA is a culture resource centre which lends out space to other cultural events.
