Greater Noida Resident suspected to be killed – Appeal to join in a protest rally on Sunday March 02, 2014

I regret to inform you that we have lost one of our members named Sukhendy Lal Chakraborty last Sunday (February 23, 2014).

Sukhendu Lal Chakraborty like many of us came to settle in Greater Noida as his job relocated him from his hometown in West Bengal. He was working with NIIT Limited as a software engineer and shifted his base here about a year and half ago. He was residing at HPCL Society in Sector – Pi. He was in his mid thirties and got married in January, 2013. He was to travel to a client location in the Middle East and so sent back his wife to his home in West Bengal. He was living alone. On last Sunday (i.e., February 23, 2014) night he went out from his residence and got killed. His dead body was found near the HPCL Society gate. Police are investigating the case and no more update is available in this regard. People who knew him closely find it extremely difficult to believe that he could have any enemy. As a person he was very soft-spoken a little shy. The killing is unfortunate and a great loss to the family as also to our ‘Samiti’. Please join me in praying to the almighty to give peace to the departed soul and courage to the family to endure the pain.

I learnt from our member Shri Supratim Kundu (also next door neighbor of Mr. Sukhendu) that Mr. Sukhendu’s sister is organizing a protest rally tomorrow (i.e., Sunday March 02, 2014). The rally will start from the gate of HPCL Society (Sector – Pi, Beside ITBP Society, Greater Noida) at 4:30 PM and will end at the police post (Kotwali) at Kasna (Near Honda Factory). The rally will require about an hour. Through this note, I appeal to all our members to join in the rally tomorrow.
