GST must be implemented from September 1, 2017: Chamber of Trade & Industry

Following the important meeting of Union govt on June 11 regarding Goods and Services Tax implementation, Chamber of Trade and Industry on Saturday demanded to implement GST from September 1, 2017.

As per the reports, the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Council could  in its 11 June meeting, would go for revision in the fitment of some goods and services in the tax slabs after a review of industry representations, the government told media .
CTI’s Convenor Brajesh Goyal and Hemant Gupta said that there were confusions  about GST rates over the past few days across Delhi which showed that business class is unhappy with the proposed rates of GST.
Additionally CTI also demands  to apply GST from September 1,  rather than  July 1, because the millions of traders are still migrating to attend seminars and workshops to understand GST in deep, they added.
