#HeroHonda chowk flyover delayed by 6 more months

GURGAON: The construction of a flyover and an underpass at Hero Honda Chowk is likely to get delayed by six more months because the shifting of power lines across the Delhi-Jaipur highway has been held up by the power discom. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) had approved a payment of Rs 73 lakh in December to shift 11kV electric lines, and initiated communication to follow up with the discom on shifting of 66kV high-tension wires. But the NHAI claimed the discom has failed to respond to any of their queries, thus delaying the shifting of sewer and water lines along the stretch.

According to a senior NHAI official, work on construction of the flyover and underpass at Hero Honda Chowk technically started on November 25, 2014, with a deadline of April 2017. “It`s six months since the project started, but work on the shifting of power utilities is yet to begin. We have had correspondence with DHBVN and HVPN regarding thisas it is delaying construction work and will push the deadline further.

However, HVPN submitted an estimate of Rs 2.60 crore recently after six months of follow-up,” he said. There are six towers carrying 66kV high-tension lines.
