The event was presided by Giriraj Singh, Minister of Textiles, Government of India along with Kangana Ranaut, Member of Lok Sabha & Actress; Pabitra Margherita, Minister of State for External Affairs & Textiles, Government of India; Neelam Shami Rao, Secretary, Ministry of Textiles; Nimuben Bhambhaniya, MoS Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution and Rohit Kansal Additional Secretary, Ministry of Textiles.

This significant celebration honoured India’s enduring handloom traditions and the invaluable contributions of the nation’s artisans and weavers.
As part of the festivities, an exclusive exhibition of artisans and weavers was organized under the E Nurture initiative—a CSR program by India Exposition Mart Ltd. (IEML)—in association with the Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH). The event is aiming to empower grassroots talents and uphold India’s rich handloom and handicraft heritage. This programme featured a curated line-up of talented weavers and artisans on boarded through the Expo Bazaar e-commerce platform, providing them with an opportunity to showcase their crafts and engage with a wider market.

The exhibition brings together a diverse community of skilled artisans and weavers from across the country, offering them a platform to showcase their traditional craftsmanship and unique creations directly to consumers and industry stakeholders. These participants have been onboarded and supported through Expo Bazaar, an e-commerce platform dedicated to promoting Indian handicrafts in both domestic and international markets.

This initiative is a part of IEML’s broader vision to create sustainable growth opportunities for the craft sector by enhancing market access, providing professional exposure, and encouraging digital inclusion for rural artisans and weavers. The exhibition not only honors their contribution to preserving India’s cultural legacy but also equips them with essential tools to thrive in today’s dynamic market landscape.

The celebration of National Handloom Day through such inclusive initiatives reflects a renewed commitment to skill development, entrepreneurial empowerment, and cultural preservation, ensuring that the timeless art of Indian handlooms continues to inspire and flourish for generations to come.
