Hazrat Nizamuddin Dargah clerics return safely to India, say Pakistani media carried false reports calling them RAW agents
New Delhi, March 20: Hazrat Nizamuddin Aulia Dargah head cleric Syed Asif Ali Nizami and his nephew Nazim Nizami returned safely to India on Monday morning, days after they had gone missing in Pakistan. The two landed at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi on Monday morning and are expected to meet External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj later today. Nizami and his nephew returned to Nizamuddin Dargah with their family and are scheduled to meet Swaraj later. They offered prayers at the Dargah shortly after returning.
After returning to India, Nazim Nizami addressed the media and thanked the media and Sushma Swaraj for all the help. “I thank the people of India, the media and Madam Sushma Swaraj for all the help extended to us,” he said. Putting some serious allegations on the Pakistani media, Nizami said, “There is a newspaper Ummat (in Pakistan) which has printed false statements (of the two clerics being RAW spies) and photos.” He said that the two were detained by Pakistani intelligence agencies following such reports.
