Health is the Real Wealth: MLA Pankaj Singh Calls for Policy-Driven Action at CII Yi Health & Accessibility Conclave 2025

NOIDA News (07 November 2025): The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Young Indians (Yi) hosted the National Health & Accessibility Conclave 2025 at Radisson Blu, Sector 18, Noida, bringing together policymakers, healthcare experts, industry leaders, and changemakers to discuss inclusive healthcare and mental well-being for all.
The conclave, which concluded a nationwide advocacy campaign across 50 Yi chapters, focused on bridging gaps in health access, policy formation, and awareness. Discussions revolved around three central themes — Mental Health Stigma in Workplaces and Communities, Accessibility and Inclusion, and Intersections of Mental Health, Accessibility and Drug Abuse.

Pankaj Singh: “Health before everything else — this is India’s true transformation”
Chief Guest Pankaj Singh, MLA, Noida, delivered the keynote address, emphasizing that India’s healthcare system has undergone a remarkable transformation in the past decade, both in reach and in affordability.
He said, This roundtable is not just about discussion — it’s about shaping policies that truly reach people. The government is determined to bridge the gap between expectations and outcomes. Physical fitness is important, but even more essential is ensuring that awareness and access reach every citizen.
Reflecting on India’s historical and cultural connection with medical science, Singh remarked, Our country has always been advanced in the field of medicine. Ancient scriptures and stories — like those of Lord Ganesha and Lord Shiva — refer to concepts akin to organ transplantation and surgical practices. Over 300 types of surgical instruments are mentioned in our Vedic texts. Even if one calls them mythological, imagining such knowledge centuries ago itself shows the depth of Indian wisdom.
He further highlighted the progress made under the current government’s health initiatives: In the last 11 years, India has seen a tremendous change in medical science and accessibility. AIIMS institutions have expanded from 7 to 22 across the country. The Jan Aushadhi Kendra initiative has saved citizens nearly ₹38,000 crore by making medicines affordable. This, in itself, is a major achievement.

Speaking about the lessons from the pandemic, he added, During COVID-19, our government worked at a pace unmatched by any other nation. Even before WHO’s recommendations, India had begun mask production. Today, over 220 crore vaccine doses have been administered, and we’ve extended vaccine support to more than 100 countries.
On mental health, Singh emphasized the growing accessibility of telemedicine services through e-Sanjeevani, noting, Over 37 crore people have benefited from e-Sanjeevani consultations. It’s proof that healthcare can be accessible, affordable, and innovative.
He concluded by stressing the role of forums like CII Yi in policy shaping: Critical discussions like these are vital. When reports from such roundtables inform policy formation, the gap between planning and implementation narrows — and citizens see real results. Pankaj Singh also quoted Mahatma Gandhi, saying, “Real wealth is health, not gold or silver.”

Rajeev Narain Mishra: “Every citizen must act as a zero responder”
Rajeev Narain Mishra, IPS, Additional Commissioner of Police, Gautam Budh Nagar, lauded the CII Yi initiative and called for equal emphasis on mental health alongside physical well-being.
He said, We often focus on physical fitness while neglecting mental health. But today, awareness has grown significantly — people are beginning to talk about emotional well-being, and that’s a powerful change.
Drawing from his experiences in law enforcement, Rajeev Narain Mishra added, The police often receive cases linked to mental health challenges. As first responders, our duty is to act swiftly and with empathy. But I urge everyone to act as a ‘zero responder’ — a citizen who steps forward to help before professionals arrive. Saving a life is the greatest act of humanity.
He emphasized that emotional regulation and inner healing must become part of mainstream health conversations: Being emotional is not a weakness — but when emotions overwhelm us, we need to focus on healing from within.
