Gurugram, March 9, 2022: In keeping with its unwavering commitment to Diversity & inclusion (D&I) and Safety, Hero MotoCorp, the world’s largest manufacturer of motorcycles and scooters, today felicitated 52 ASHA workers with Hero Pleasure scooters in Gurugram, Haryana, to commemorate International Women’s Day.
As part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) platform “Hero WeCare”, this initiative by Hero MotoCorp aims to empower Asha Workers who are at the forefront of the tackling the coronavirus pandemic by providing them with Hero scooters to increase their independent mobility.
Nishant Kumar Yadav, Deputy Commissioner, Gurugram, Haryana, and Bharatendu Kabi, Head Corporate Communication and Head Corporate Social Responsibility, Hero MotoCorp, handed over these 52 Hero scooters to the ASHA Workers in the presence of senior officials from the government and Hero MotoCorp.
Appreciating this initiative of Hero MotoCorp, Nishant Kumar Yadav, Deputy Commissioner, Gurugram, Haryana, said, “The ASHA workers have led from the front in the fight against COVID-19, especially in remote towns and villages, and have been in constant touch with the local community. They played a key role in screening people across the state by conducting door-to-door surveys to seek out people suffering from any symptom of the disease. Hero MotoCorp’s efforts in rewarding these COVID warriors is truly commendable and will motivate more corporates to recognise such dedication to the people and the society.”

HERO MOTOCORP’S PARTNERSHIP WITH HARYANA GOVERNMENT–
• Signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) for the ecological restoration and conservation of the Aravalli Biodiversity Park, situated in Gurugram, Haryana, for the next 10 years
• Handed over six specially designed First Responder Vehicles (FRVs) to the government civil hospitals in Rewari, Dharuhera and Gurugram
• Handed over 70 two-wheelers to Haryana Government at the launch of Project ‘Corona Warriors on Wheels’
• Announced a unique welfare package for 25 Covid-19 affected families in association with ‘Raman Kant Munjal Foundation (RKMF)’ in Rewari, Haryana
• Set up a 100 bedded COVID Care Centre at the Government Girls College (Sector 14) in Gurugram
• More than 8000+ litres of sanitizer, 11 lakh+ surgical masks, 23000+ PPE kits, and other essential items have been distributed to hospitals, administrative authorities and police in Haryana
• Inaugurated the first-ever training centre – The Centre of Excellence for Women- at the Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Women, at Ambala in Haryana
• Supported 2500 students studying in government schools through 100 remedial education (ASHA) centres running in the districts of Rewari and Gurugram
• Supported project Khel Hero which has enrolled about 160 young boys and girls from a village in Jhajjar district of Haryana and imparts formal training in football
• Supported the GuruJal Society, an integrated water management initiative under District Administration, Gurugram
• Constructed 6 Rain Water Harvesting structures in Government Schools of Haryana
• Adopted Traffic Training Parks at Gurugram
• Supported eye care center where patients are treated free of cost for eye related ailments in Dharuhera
