New Delhi (13/01/2019): Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday gave away Lok Abhiyan Sewa awards today at the residence of Union Minister Vijay Goel.
Agriculture Minister Radhe Mohan Singh was the chief guest at the award ceremony, where many of the important personalities of India who have worked hard for the betterment of the society were awarded.
One of the awardee was HS Phoolka, who fought against the people behind 1984 riots.
Harvinder Singh Phoolka, an advocate who struggled for last 34 years to see Politician Sajjan Kumar imprisoned wsd felicitated for his cause of justice.
Speaking to Ten News HS Phoolka said,
“This fight was not my personal one. The fight I was involved in was for a community I belong to.
Now another turn will be of Kamal Nath who recently became the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh. This fact that he is now a Chief Minister, won’t let him hide from his doings.”
Shayara Bano, a 35 year old woman from Uttrakhand who was the face of the anti-Triple Talaq campaign was also awarded at the session for her brave work.
Speaking to Ten News Shayra said,
“It was not easy in the starting but when I noticed that my fight is now of crores of other women, I promised myself that I won’t be backing off from this fight I initiated. It is all because of BJP politicians and PM Narendra Modi that today Supreme Court stands with us.”
Many other important persons were also awarded at the session like SS Agarwal who runs many charitable hospitals, dharamshalas and schools .
Other persons who worked for the betterment of our society were also praised and awarded at the session.
