New Delhi, 14th July: The 5th edition of the mega hospitality fair, India International Hospitality Expo is all set to welcome over 20,000 B2B buyers from across the hospitality sector and F&B sector.

It will be a significant event for the different stakeholders of the hospitality sector to come together and introduce new strategies, technologies and forge partnerships to reap the benefit from the different opportunities that they encounter.

IHE 2022 is not just a simple show, various events have been lined up for the expo. IHE Excellence in Hospitality Awards ceremony, conferences on luxury hospitality, Housekeeping competition for hospitality students and much more.

The interaction of Ten News correspondent with the Chairperson of Delhi Chapter of Institute of Indian Interior Designer, Mr Hemant Sood was insightful in understanding more about IHE as well as IIID’s participation in it.

With over 8000 members in 31 chapters and centres across India, IIID, an all-India fraternity of interior designers, will also be participating in IHE as an industry body. Different chapters of IIID, like from Chandigarh, Jaipur, Lucknow, would be participating in this fair as knowledge partners. IIID will also set up 8 mock-up rooms, fashioned uniquely in different styles by 8 senior and seasoned designers from India.

Mr Sood appreciated IHE as the ‘biggest and the best’ exhibition for the hospitality industry, which would also serve to bring hospitality and design together. He considers hospitality as an important part of a designer’s job and highlighted the fact that adverse impact on the travel and hospitality industry due to the pandemic directly resulted in negative changes in the design industry too.

However, Mr Sood views with sheer optimism the future of the design industry because of the fading fear of the pandemic which has resulted in amelioration in the conditions of the hospitality industry. But he also believes that now the designing process has to undergo certain modifications not only due to the changing trends but also because of the changes incorporated as a result of the pandemic.

Even after suffering two bad years due to the pandemic, Mr Sood showed optimism about the upcoming IHE 2022, which is set to take place between 3-6 August at India Expo Centre and Mart. He also looks forward to collaborating with the highly professional team of IHE again.
