Househelp Assaulted in Delhi, Hair Chopped Off by Employers

New Delhi, 20 May 2022: The Delhi Police has found an assaulted 48-year-old house-help in Rajouri Garden, New Delhi on Sunday, said the police on Thursday.

It was found that the woman, Rajni was physically assaulted by her employers and her hairs were also chopped off. She was also suffering from injuries in her limbs, face, eyes, abdomen and so on, according to the police. She has been admitted to the Safdarjung Hospital for medical help.

The house-help, Rajni belonged to West Bengal and was working in New Delhi where she earned Rs 7000 per month. The police were informed of the case on Tuesday. According to the MLC (Medico-Legal Case), the victim had a history of physical assault by the accused.

According to reports, Rajni was dropped by her employers at the placement agency on grounds of sickness. However, the owner of the agency said that she was found in the pool of her own urine, Rajni was not sick but was assaulted.

In her statement to the police, Rajni said that her employers, Abhineet and his wife beat her up and also chopped her hairs off. A case has also been filed under the charges of voluntarily causing hurt, assault and wrongful confinement, the police said.
