It’s an important year for HTC as it looks for some change in fortunes amid falling revenues. The company’s last two flagship smartphones can’t be called stellar successes, and HTC will hope that it isn’t the case this time around. With the Samsung Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 edge already in the Indian market and the LG G5 about to be launched next week, HTC has today launched the HTC 10 flagship smartphone in India. It will be available in India for Rs 52,990, and will start shipping from June 5 onwards. HTC also says that the first 500 buyers will get a transparent Ice View case for free.

HTC has not only dropped the ‘One’ moniker from the smartphone’s name, but the overall design too is quite evolved. The company says that the design is inspired by sunlight, with the chamfered edges and dual-textured finish inspired by the effect of light across a metal surface. The front is covered with glass that flows into the metal body at the edges. HTC also says that the smartphone has been put under numerous drop and scratch tests, and it has survived them.
