New Delhi : IAS officers, especially those at the secretary and additional secretary level, may now be appraised not just on their ability to get along with their ministerial bosses, but also their moral and financial integrity, according to new proposals motted by the personnel ministry. What will also go in determining the IAS officers’ promotion will be their attitude to the weaker sections of society, along with a 50-word write-up by the officer that will include, among other things, an example demonstrating their courage to stand up for what’s right. June 28, for the chief secretaries of various state governments to write back to the personnel ministry with their views and comments on the new proposals that will decide the fate of 5,004 IAS officers who are currently working across the country.(Source : TOI)
