New Delhi, 1 November 2022: Delhi’s Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal has said that the free yoga lessons offered by the Delhi government will continue and that he will not permit any work to halt, despite alleged opposition by the LG Saxena and the BJP.
At a press conference, Kejriwal also displayed the “Dilli Ki Yogshala” project file, claiming that his deputy Manish Sisodia had signed it on October 26 and that it would have been delivered to LG Saxena that same day or the following day.
According to government sources, LG Saxena has not given his approval for the extension of the scheme past October 31. However, It was incorrect to claim that LG Saxena has not approved the extension because of which the scheme was being discontinued, according to officials in the LG office, who claimed that the Lt Governor’s office had not yet received any file requesting permission for the extension of the programme beyond October 31.
Kejriwal further clarified that the yoga classes were being used by 17,000 beneficiaries. Many people were coping with post-Covid problems. These individuals have shut them down, which makes him very sorry.
“Yoga instructors have stated that they will continue to attend lessons, and I have had donations requests from all across the nation. I want to let everyone know that the yoga classes won’t end. I’m willing to even grovel on people’s doorsteps with a bowl if it means keeping this plan going,” he added.
He claimed that 2 crore people in Delhi would reply if the scheme’s misuse of power was stopped.
