IHE being reinvented to take it to the next level: Ajay Khanna, Advisory Board Member

New Delhi, 15 July 2022: The 5th edition of the India International Hospitality Expo 2022, which is scheduled for 3rd to 6th August, is set to welcome over 20,000 B2B buyers from across the hospitality sector and F&B sector.

This coming together of the hospitality industry stakeholders to exchange ideas, technologies will provide a great impetus to the industry.

IHE 2022 will include a number of events in addition to the one-day exposition. symposia on luxury hospitality, competitions for housekeeping among hospitality students, and more are all part of the IHE Excellence in Hospitality Awards ceremony.

In conversation with Ten News, the CEO of Eagle Forgings and esteemed Advisory Board Member of IHE 2022, Ajay Khanna spoke about the growing and expanding nature of the hospitality industry. “The Industry was growing extremely fast and then it hit the bottom because of Covid. But some people including me were positive and kept our companies and businesses running. Now, the hospitality and the food & beverage industry has jumped back very fast and in fact, it has crossed 2019 levels which are being taken as the benchmark. I genuinely feel there is no stopping the hospitality industry now,” he said.

 

In response to the upcoming IHE 2022 (India International Hospitality Expo 2022), Khanna highlighted that the expo is coming back after almost 3 years, “it is something that we are reinventing to see how can we take it to the next level.”

“Most people in the industry I have spoken to are doing two things, one is reviewing, renewing and reminding customers of their range and what they have while some people have come up with new products with new innovative ideas and that is what they are going to showcase at IHE,” he added.

He also stated that the IHE team has done a lot of work to professionalize the exhibition. “IHE has been put on a platform of exhibitions internationally, it is run very professionally on the international scale. There certainly is a distance issue but when people travel to southeast Asia and Europe for exhibitions so traveling to Delhi for IHE should not be a problem if it offers good quality and a wide variety of products,” Khanna said.

The ethos of IHE 2022 is to bring in business visitors and customers and that is very important and it is the basic difference between IHE and other exhibitions, he concluded.
