IMA Celebrates National Doctor’s Day by Organising Blood Donation Camps, Health-Check Up and Awareness activities

New Delhi, 1 July: The Indian Medical Association is observing National Doctors’ Day at various branches by holding Blood Donation Camps, Health Check-up Camps and Awareness activities on 1 July, according to Dr. Sahajanand Prasad Singh, National President, IMA.

At IMA HQs, a grand function is being organized to reward dedicated and eminent doctors who have rendered distinguished services to the humanities, he added.

The Award Function is being attended by Union Minister, Mansukh Madaviya and Minister of State, Dr Bharati Pravin Pawar including leaders and members of IMA across the country.

 

The Indian Medical Association will also pay tribute to Dr Bidhan Chandra Roy on his death anniversary. Dr Roy was a visionary leader, social reformer, astute clinician and the 2nd Chief Minister of West Bengal.

He was conferred with Bharat Ratna in 1961, one year before his death. Soon after, the government of India instituted Dr. B.C. Roy National Award in 1973 which was conferred by the President of India every year. But since the last 5 years, they said Award has been put on hold, said the National President, IMA.

 

On this occasion, the IMA will also put forth before the Ministers the difficulties faced by member’s and will draw the attention towards unmet demands of IMA, added Dr. Singh, National President, IMA.
