New Delhi, Nov 18, 2022: In a first, six women Army officers have cleared the Defence Services Staff Course (DSSC) and Defence Services Technical Staff Course (DSTSC) exam. The exam takes place every year in the month of September.
Over the last two years, Supreme Court judgements have granted permanent commission as well as command postings to women officers in all arms and services other than combat.
Four of these six officers will undergo a one-year course at Defence Services Staff College, Wellington, Tamil Nadu, alongside their male counterparts. The women officers will receive training and orientation with regard to operational, military intelligence, operational logistics and administrative aspects of staff appointments.
Among the remaining two women officers, one is on the reserve list for Defence Services Technical Staff Course. Meanwhile, the other officer has been shortlisted for Administration and Logistics Management Course (ALMC)/Intelligence Staff Course (ISC).
