New Delhi: Congress Leader, Jairam Ramesh on Monday Targeted BJP On Allegations of Over-Invoicing against a Company in the Adani group. “Adani Co. had signed an Power Purchase Agreement(PPA) with Gujarat govt in 2007. Later the company demanded increase in the price of electricity,” said Jairam Ramesh.
Addressing the press conference on Monday, Senior Congress Leader, Jairam Ramesh said,
“In last 2-3 years, whenever a probe is initiated on Adani company, the probe is immediately squashed by Govt of India.
3 companies alone will profit Rs 1,30,000Cr from this move of Gujarat govt. This will be a burden on citizens. This decision is in direct violation of SC’s judgement.”
He further said, “Adani firm asked Singapore Court to quash the LRs issued by DRI, but Singapore court rejected the plea. Adani firm asks Bombay HC to stall the DRI probe. Day after tomorrow, judgement will be given by Bombay HC. DRI issued Letters Rogatory(LRs) to Singapore seeking its help to access documents lying with overseas branches of SBI bank, where coal import transactions took place.”
“This is a clear case of privatisation of profit and nationalisation of loss,” added Jairam.
