Greater Noida News (25/02/2026): In a landmark moment for India’s hospitality industry, Barun Gupta, Chief Operating Officer of Indeva Hotels & Resorts, announced a historic achievement as the group prepares to host one of the country’s most ambitious motorsport showcases — Red Bull Moto Jam 2026 — inside a hotel property.
Speaking exclusively to Ten News Network, COO Barun Gupta reflected on his two-decade-long journey, leadership philosophy, and Indeva’s aggressive expansion roadmap.
From Trainee to COO: A 20-Year Hospitality Journey
Barun Gupta shared an inspiring account of his professional growth by saying that, My journey in hospitality spans nearly 20 years. I began my career as a trainee with Rambagh Palace and gradually grew through hands-on learning and leadership roles. A major part of my professional foundation was built during my long association with Starwood Hotels, along with valuable experience at Taj and other renowned hotel chains.
Promoted to Chief Operating Officer in December 2025 from his earlier role as General Manager, Gupta today oversees operations, marketing strategy, brand development, and P&L management across Indeva’s growing portfolio.
Major Achievements: Taking Indian Hospitality Global
Highlighting his most significant milestones, Gupta emphasized India’s emergence on the global hospitality and events map. One of my biggest achievements has been executing large-scale international events that showcased India globally. Today, we are setting another benchmark by hosting Red Bull Moto Jam 2026 within our hotel premises, where a Formula One car will actually drive inside the property, he stated.
He added with pride, This is the first time in India that a hotel has achieved such a feat. The car is being assembled right now in the hotel lobby. I am extremely proud of my team and proud that Indeva Hotels & Resorts has been able to accomplish this in such a short span of time.
Team-Driven Value Creation at Expo Inn
When asked about value addition at Expo Inn and the convention space, Gupta credited teamwork over individual leadership. Value creation is never about one person. It is the collective effort of our entire team. Every Head of Department and team member has contributed with full dedication, and that is why we are achieving new heights for this region, he explained.
Building Powerful Brands Across Segments
Under Barun Gupta’s operational leadership, Indeva Hotels & Resorts has successfully launched five distinctive brands — Plume, The Mor Stays, IRISE, Sāraṅga, and The Shikina (Luxury Collection) — catering to luxury, upscale, mid-scale, boutique, and lifestyle travelers. Indeva is a lifestyle-driven hospitality brand. Our vision is to serve diverse traveler needs — from luxury experiences to chic retreats and business boutique hotels, Barun Gupta said.
Expansion Plans: 50 Hotels by 2030
Sharing the group’s ambitious future roadmap, Barun Gupta revealed: By 2030, our target is to reach 50 hotels across India. In 2026 alone, we plan to open and sign nearly 11 properties nationwide. This growth is aligned with India’s tourism boom and rising demand for experiential hospitality.
