New Delhi/Lucknow, May 31, 2026: In a significant step towards promoting India’s defence manufacturing by MSMEs ecosystem, Rakesh Kumar, Chairman of India Expo Centre & Mart, and Sudeep Sarcar, CEO, Mr H V Krishna, IMS , Bangalore, Ravinder Singh, IMS, Lucknow along with a delegation met sh Rajnath Singh, India’s Defence Minister at New Delhi, to discuss the organization of a major manufacturing Show highlighting Defence Production by Indian manufacturers in Lucknow.
The meeting was attended by representatives from the IMS team from Bengaluru and LUB, Lucknow. Discussions focused on the potential framework, objectives, and opportunities associated with hosting a large-scale manufacturing exhibition for defence manufacturing / production especially by MSME sector.
The proposed exhibition is expected to showcase India’s growing capabilities in defence manufacturing and productions especially by MSMEs, aerospace technology, military innovation, and indigenous defence solutions under the Government of India’s vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat. The event could bring together MSMEs, defence manufacturers, technology companies, startups, policymakers, armed forces representatives, and global industry stakeholders on a common platform.
Uttar Pradesh has emerged as an important hub within the Uttar Pradesh Defence Production Corridor, making it a strategic location for hosting a defence-focused exhibition. Industry experts believe that such an event would further strengthen investment opportunities, technological collaboration, and business partnerships in the defence manufacturing and production by MSMEs.
The meeting reflects continued efforts by industry leaders and government stakeholders to enhance India’s position as a global defence manufacturing and innovation destination while promoting economic growth and employment opportunities in the region.
Through the Defense Corridor, Uttar Pradesh, India, is making its defense sector self-reliant. BrahMos is also being manufactured here in Lucknow. And in many other ways, Uttar Pradesh is strengthening defence manufacturing: Rajnath Singh, Defence Minister stated today on Twitter.
