New Delhi, Dec 16, 2022: FICCI President-Elect Mr. Subhrakant Panda addressed the 95th edition of FICCI’s Annual convention & AGM and showered praises on the crucial steps taken under the leadership of Indian FM Nirmala Sitharaman and honorable PM Narendra Modi to ensure the country’s financial development. He is was commenting on the issues and concerns flagged by FM in her keynote address . The theme of the convention is “India @100: Amrit Kaal, Sustainable and Inclusive”.
“As we look at Amrit Kal, it is really the time when India will come out and regain its position at the high table. At a time when developed countries across the globe are dealing with high inflation and are concerned with recession, India certainly has emerged as a beacon of hope and optimism..with the World Bank recently raising growth projection from 6.5% to 6.9% for FY ’22-23 due to ‘robust economic activity’. It is a matter of pride that India will once again be the fastest growing economy in the world,” he noted.
Referring to global challenges, Mr. Panda noted, “As we enter 2023, protracted geopolitical tensions, tightening global financial conditions and slowing external demands are certainly challenges to be countered. But, I think it is fair to say that India is better prepared than it has ever been to deal with such short turbulence without losing sight of the huge medium to long-term opportunity.”
Speaking on the budget, Mr. Subhrakant Panda said, “Indian industry has great expectations that the #UnionBudget2023 will be growth-oriented and build further on the foundation of govt’s initiatives over the last eight years.”
In November, Mr. Subhrakant Panda was announced by FICCI as its President-Elect. He is currently the Senior Vice President of FICCI and will succeed Mr. Sanjiv Mehta as the President of the apex chamber at the conclusion of 95th Annual General Meeting from 16th-17th December, 2022.
