“India should raise voice against Pak attrocties in Gilgit-Baltistan”

NEW DELHI : India should vociferously raise the issues of Human Rights Violations carried out by the state of Pakistan in the disputed region of Gilgit-Baltistan, which is a part of Jammu and Kashmir state, Asian Eurasian Human Rights Forum demanded.
While speaking at a seminar on “Human Rights Abuses in Pakistan”, Alok Bansal, Secretary General of Asian Eurasian Human Rights Forum and Director of India Foundation said, “It is very strange that the Pakistan, that has been victimising its own citizens in the provinces of Balochistan and the Gilgit-Baltistan have been raising the issues of Human Rights Violations in Indian side of Kashmir on the world forums. It is a high time that India should raise vociferously campaign against the human rights violations that Pakistan has been carrying out in the Gilgit-Baltistan.”
Condemning the highhandedness of the Pakistan authorities towards the disputed territory of Gilgit-Baltistan, Dhruv Katoch, former Major General of Indian Army said, “Everything that happens in Pakistan is because of the Pak army’s heavy boot,” he said adding, “unless the situation is reversed, it is hard to change anything in the country where civil governments are following the dictates of the military.”
