Install CCTV cameras in all prisons: SC to states

The Supreme Court today directed the Centre and the states to install CCTV cameras in all the prisons and consider the same in lock-ups and police stations also to ensure that persons are not subjected to torture.

A bench of justices T S Thakur and R Banumathi, in its verdict on a PIL, passed a slew of directions including the installation of CCTV cameras in jails within one year.
