New Delhi, February 7: India Quality Association(IQA) organized a three-day program on the theme, “Building Resilience: Recipe for Business Sustenance & Growth” to mark the celebration of IQA’s 2nd anniversary foundation day.
Three expert speakers including Retd. Prof of Management Dr S Mahesh, University of New Orleans USA, Major Gen. Jacob T Chacko, Armed services & Mr Ken Koffmann, CTO, TIA Florida US spoke on the theme in an expert session which was coordinated by Rajeev V.S, Senior Consultant, Risk Management & Information Security.
While giving a brief introduction on the theme, basically discussing how do businesses build resilience & become sustainable, Rajeev V.S said organisations also have to focus on governance, technology assimilation, agility & operations, ability to respond to changing customer, economic needs & also develop both hard & soft skills of the employees, so this would make an organisation sustain itself in challenging times & enjoy strong growth consequently.
Expert speaker Dr Sathiadev Mahesh gave a brief presentation covering several topics including component & system reliability, complex global supply chain, resilience and sustainability of organisations & its instruments/certifications as well as HR sustainability.
While summarizing his presentation, he said, when I talk about resilience here, I want to look at natural & man-made disasters, targeted attacks, in particular the failure of the human-machine interface, especially in AI environment.
Maj Gen. Jacob T spoke on “Building Organisational Capabilities for Sustainace & Growth”
Basically presenting on the theme from the perspective of the capabilities an organization needs to possess for building Resilience & Sustainability.
Jacob T Chacko with an expression of hope, said, “Maybe each one of you listening to me is holding the key to the sustainability of your organization, Whether you want to use it or hold it to the pocket is the choice I leave it to you.”
The third expert speaker was Ken Koffman, TIA CTO & SVP TIA quest forum (Retd.) Florida US who has evolved a model & framework for Organisational Sustainability under the wing of the quest forum in TIA with an assessment component.
Koffman in his presentation covered the nuances of his model; he presented a tool that according to Koffman can not only bring together the important aspects of the classic sustainability but also align it with Business resilience & priorities that an organisation brought. He gave an presentation on “TIA Quest Forum Sustainability Assessor Tool Sustainability Beyond compliance”
The IQA expert session was aligned on its six charter points in order to make its vision a success, starting from Competency development for concerned professionals, supporting the standards, framework & various models, knowledge management, quality culture promotion right at the school level, portfolio management & the last one was about rising to the occasion.
