Melbourne, Oct 26, 2022: Ireland scripted an unforgettable win against England on Wednesday at the MCG during the 20th match of the T20 Cricket World Cup.
Ireland skipper Andy Balbirnie helped his country pull off a huge upset with a 47-ball inning scoring 62 runs.
Leg-spinner Liam Livingstone and pacer Mark Wood helped the England team in bowling the Irish team out for 157 runs in 19.2 overs.
Chasing the target, the English team was able to put up 105/5 in 14.3 overs on the scoreboard, falling 5 runs short of the DLS target of 110.
While talking about the importance of Ireland’s victory over England, Balbirnie stated that, “We’re continuously trying to make this sport a bigger sport in our country, days like today will help”.
