ISSUANCE OF ERRATIC AND INFLATED ELECTRICITY BILLS IN NOIDA.
It has been brought to our notice that the staff deputed for issuing electricity consumption bills, have been deliberately preparing and delivering erratic and inflated bills to the electricity consumers in Noida.
In many cases, where the consumers have been regularly paying the bills, arrears are being added and consumers are unnecessarily being harassed as they have to run to the local offices to get the bills rectified after showing the receipts.As regards Fixed charges, even though, in terms of notification issued in October, 2014, Fixed charges are to be levied based on the demand and not on the basis of sanctioned load. The said staff have not been giving benefit to the consumers whose demand is lower than the sanctioned load. On the other hand, if the demand is higher than the sanctioned load, they have been issuing the bills on the basis of higher consumption.
It may be recalled that the above-mentioned issue had earlier been brought to your notice and you had assured to issue necessary directions to the concerned staff. However, the matter has not been resolved in respect of all the Divisions. We shall be constrained to resort to agitational programmes like Dharnas if the problem remains unresolved in another 15 days.
We shall be grateful to you if you could kindly issue necessary directions to the concerned staff to issue the correct electricity consumption bills so as to avoid unnecessary harassment and inconvenience to the consumers.
