Jet Airways Founder’s Residence Raided by CBI in connection with Bank Fraud Case

Mumbai (India), 6th May 2023: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) raided seven locations in Mumbai on Friday, including the offices of Jet Airways and its founder, Naresh Goyal, in connection with a bank fraud investigation. The CBI raided Naresh Goyal’s home and Jet Airways’ Mumbai office in connection with an alleged 538-crore Canara Bank fraud case.

The agency conducted searches at the homes and offices of Naresh Goyal, his wife Anita, and
former airline director Gaurang Ananda Shetty.

The raids were carried out in response to Canara Bank’s allegation. According to officials, a case of alleged bank fraud totaling 538 crore has also been lodged in response to a complaint from Canara Bank.

According to them, the claims include the suspected diversion of funds as well as other irregularities.

After Jalan Kalrock Consortium won the bid for Jet Airways under the bankruptcy resolution procedure at the National firm Law Tribunal (NCLT), the firm was in the process of being revived.
